La fête du football mondial se déroulera du 9 juin au 9 juillet 2006 en Allemagne. Trente deux nations prendront part à ce rendez-vous sportif planétaire.
A Vingt-sept jours du coup d'envoi de cette compétition, les dates d'arrivée des 31 pays qui rejoindront le pays organisateur sont connues. La première sélection qui foulera le sol allemand c'est le Togo. Emmanuel Adebayor et ses camarades seront les premiers dès le 15 mai, soit cinq jours avant l'Angola. Le pays du soleil levant, le Japon arrivera en troisième position. Les Nippons, débarqueront le 26 mai.
Le lendemain 27 mai, ce sera au tour des Black sars du Ghana et de l'Arabie saoudite.
Quant aux Eléphants de Côte d'Ivoire, après leurs, 3 matches amicaux de préparation contre la Suisse le 27 mai à Bâle, le Chili le 31 mai à Vittel et la Slovénie le 4 juin à Evry-Bondoufle, ils rallieront le territoire allemand le 5 juin.
La bande à Henri Michel aura cinq jours pour attaquer son premier match de poule face à l'Argentine. La Tunisie regagnera l'Allemagne à la même date que les Ivoiriens. L'équipe nationale de France, pour sa part, sera à pied d'œuvre le 8 juin. Zinédine Zidane et ses coéquipiers atterriront sur les bords du Rhin 24h avant le démarrage de la coupe du monde allemande. Dernière formation à arriver sur place, l'Ukraine. Les Ukrainiens sont attendus le 9 juin.

Togo's key men Emmanuel Adebayor, Emmanuel Mathias and Kossi Agassa have all been named in the World Cup squad.
Adebayor is the star man for his country and coach Otto Pfister has already indicated he will be relying heavily on the young Arsenal player.
Nigerian-born Mathias is another player expected to improve his reputation at the World Cup, and at just 20 years of age he looks a fine prospect in defence.
The Togolese will also be relying on Agassa to bring his experience at Ligue 1 side Metz to the squad.
Togo are in World Cup Group G with South Korea, Switzerland and France and play their first game against the Asian side on June 13.
